Village Maintenance Mechanic II

We are currently seeking Maintenance Mechanics II to join our team as we are expanding our community. The primary responsibility is to perform routine maintenance tasks, take care of repair requests daily, and assist with maintenance problems that may occur with the day-to-day operation of the 24/7 Village community including renovations, HVAC, and carpentry. The maintenance mechanic covers all areas of the Village premises. This position is full-time and will have a regular workday schedule of Monday-Friday 7:30am-4pm.

Position Requirements:

  • Applicant must be able to speak fluent English
  • Must have high school diploma or GED
  • Must have a valid driver’s license in the state of Virginia.
  • Must have a minimum of three years successful employment in one or more of the following trades: carpentry, electrical work, plumbing, refrigeration, dry walling, painting, mechanical trades (such as sheet metal, automatized work and welding), and boiler mechanics. Trade school certification or other license may be substituted for a portion of the employment experience listed above. OR must have a minimum of five years successful employment in general maintenance, renovations, carpentry, or HVAC in a setting similar to BRC.
Fitness Center Specialist (Full Time)

We are currently seeking a full-time Fitness Center Specialist to join our team. The Fitness Center Specialist will be a part of a dynamic fitness center team to help provide an engaging and empowered whole person wellness experience for our residents and team members.

Position Requirements:

  • The successful candidate will have established successful performance in the fitness and wellness industry.
  • A bachelor’s degree in kinesiology, exercise science, public health, health promotion or related fields is required.
  • The successful candidate will have a fitness instruction certification from an accredited organization, or be in pursuit of certification.
  • A personal training certification is preferred.
  • First Aid, CPR & AED certification will be required.
  • Previous work experience with the senior population or in the senior living industry is preferred.
  • The Specialist provides assistance to the Fitness Center Coordinator as necessary and must demonstrate initiative, organization skills, mature judgement, and knowledge of fitness components and equipment.
  • The Fitness Center Specialist will assist in conducting fitness assessments, exercise prescriptions, group fitness classes, wellness programming, and membership instruction and engagement.
  • Technology is something that forms the basis for your work, so the candidate must possess a comfortable level of technology use.
Homemaker for Memory Care (Full-time)

Bridgewater Retirement Community is currently seeking an outstanding and energetic full-time Homemaker to join our Memory Care Team!

We are a growing community that has at its heart the core values of compassion, innovation, and stewardship. Here at BRC we live life with the residents, which is our main focus. Our goal is to build relationships that lead to the best quality of life possible for our residents and our team members.

The Homemaker is responsible for providing a clean, safe, inviting environment for residents of the Gardner House, our memory support household. In addition, the Homemaker assists in the preparation, serving, and cleanup of daily meals and snacks. The Gardner House Homemaker also participates with residents in planned activities.

This position is full time, 11am-7pm.

RMA (Assisted Living)

The primary responsibilities of the Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) are to administer and/or assist residents with medications via various methods and provide total care or assistance with Activities of Daily Life (ADLs) to residents as assigned in Assisted Living. The RMA also assists residents in all aspects of activities of daily living, restorative, and preventative care, in a safe and healthy environment. Must maintain the ability to work with others, adapt to multiple demands, set priorities, tactfully handle residents and visitors, and understand residents’ specific needs and conditions.

Cook (Maple Terrace/Bridgewater Home)

Server (Maple Terrace/Bridgewater Home)
We currently have multiple schedules available including days and evenings, part-time and full-time. The best part is you’ll work no later than 8pm, and you work only every other weekend. We are hiring for both our Maple Terrace and Bridgewater Home locations.

In addition to the important tasks of assisting with meal preparation, service, and clean up after meals while following safety and sanitation standards, this is an opportunity to work with some very talented people who have fun, enjoy their work, and take exceptional care of our residents and guests.

CNA — Certified Nursing Assistant

The primary responsibilities of the CNA are to provide total care or assistance with ADL’s to residents as assigned, while providing the best quality of life for them. This position will assist residents in all aspects of activities of daily living, restorative, and preventative care, in a safe and healthy environment, while maintaining the ability to work with others and to adapt to multiple demands, setting priorities, tactfully handling residents and visitors, and understanding the residents’ specific needs and conditions. Position requirements:

  • CNA license in the Commonwealth of Virginia
Nurse (LPN or RN)

The nurse works with residents, nursing personnel, physicians, families, and visitors as well as team members within other departments; also maintains awareness of BRC policies and procedures as well as federal and state regulations affecting care of the residents.

Position requirements:

  • Valid RN or LPN license in the Commonwealth of Virginia
  • CPR Certification
Homemaker (Full Time, Part Time and PRN)

The homemaker serves and makes meals for our residents. This includes cleanup of the dining room and kitchen in the Nursing households, washing dishes, sweeping and mopping floors, and resetting tables so residents can enjoy their next meal. The homemaker also helps to keep our residents’ rooms, bathrooms, and common areas clean, while working as a team to provide excellent resident-centered care in the Nursing households, Assisted Living, and Gardner House (memory care household).

Training Opportunity:

Bridgewater Retirement Community (BRC) provides training opportunities at no charge for individuals to earn their certification as a nurse aide, (CNA).

The CNA course is offered to individuals who are eligible for employment and have a desire to work at BRC.

Course length is 120 hours in total, which includes 80 classroom hours, and 40 clinical hours.  Classes are daily 8AM-5PM.

Classroom and clinical instruction are based upon regulations governing certified nurse aides by the Virginia Board of Nursing.

Students who successfully complete all course requirements and demonstrate good standing with attendance and work performance will be offered employment opportunities.

Positions may include full time, part-time and as needed positions.  Teammates work every other weekend and every other holiday.
